The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped organ located in the base of your neck. It is part of the endocrine system and releases hormones that control speed of metabolism, the rate at which your body uses energy. The thyroid’s hormones regulate vital body functions, including: Breathing, Heart rate,Central and peripheral nervous systems, Body weight, Muscle strength, Menstrual cycles, Body temperature, Cholesterol levels.

The thyroid gland uses iodine from the foods you eat to make two main hormones: Triiodothyronine (T3) & Thyroxine (T4). The hormones regulate the speed with which the cells/metabolism work.Kundalini activity amplifies metabolism and the endocrine production peaks. When the activity lowers down or the glands are exhausted, there is a dip in production levels, both the cases of peak and exhaustion cause abnormal functioning in the system. Entrance of thyroid hormone into our cells is under the influence of adrenal hormone cortisol, thus Adrenal fatigue affects Thyroid. The level of thyroid hormones regulates amount of estrogen & Testosterone the body is exposed to, therefor Sexual function is directly related to thyroid imbalance.
